Catana as a baby

Blame it on the Gemini Mid-heaven or the waning quarter moon in the 10th house of my chart, or both, but fact is that I enthusiastically start a project only to let it lie around, sometimes for years. Then I find it, act as if I’ve made a great discovery, blow the dust off and continue where I left off as if there’d been no lapse in time.

That’s what happened with a manuscript I began in 2005. I had practically forgotten about it until I saw it a few months ago. One thing I didn’t like was the original title, so I renamed it and now I have what is a solid working title: The Exotic Adoptee Speaks. In it I detail the psychological issues embedded in Split at the Root as seen, obviously, from the perspective of the child.

At first I was going to do additional research, but after browsing through books dealing with the vagaries and blessings of adoption I knew that my personal experience had documented all the areas. What is more, I detailed some rather salient psychological issues not found in the adoption literature. In The Exotic Adoptee Speaks I will expose these areas within context and explain them in side bar boxes. That way everyone, not only psychologists, “gets” it.

For now though, I am glad that the book is fully outlined and posted on a storyboard that hangs on the wall over my bed. That way I can dream about it.

No pressure… I only want to meet my publication deadline at the end of January, 2014.

Sigh…
